Readings:
John 15:4-5 Heb. 12:1 1 Cor 9:24
New is relative to freshness, cleanness and purity. As accustom by everyone all through out the globe, people do scribble their new year’s resolution. Its purpose is simply to become a better person than the previous year. But like the habit of making a new year’s resolution…it always end up thwarted.
But to Christians…that should not be the case because we know better than that. New Year to us, is a mark of a new hope to get on our way…like a new day…a new year is a fresh start to make things aright according to God’s good purpose for us. Why? Because we know that there’s so much work to do for the Lord. Though sometime as we run the race we stumble and fall…it doesn’t mean we already fail… because failure comes only when we cease to run the race that God has set for us. If we keep the good fight like Paul, we will always win. How? Remain in the true vine. Set your focus in the Lord. Unless our goals are not anchored in our God, it will always bind to frustrate.
I’m not saying New Year’s resolution is worthless. It’s good. But then, always remember that it is always by God’s grace that we can make things possible because through God all things are possible.
