Storm-Proof Life

Some people thought that my family has an extravagant lifestyle. I can not blame nor judge their impression. Sometimes what they see or observe in us made them draw such conclusions. But it is non sequitur in a lot of sense. Some things do not follow based on the premises seen or heard. Of course it is very typical and funny when people would tend to stereotype anyone based on circumstance, looks, manner of speech, or things in their possession. However, that is not also a very intellectual move to draw inference under such case.

But anyway, everyone has been affected by the economic tension all over the world. In fact many homes have experienced hunger. My family is not exempted. We have experienced a great valley in our lives early this year. Finances are so tight and really depleting considering the many things that we are going through. Some of which are still the effect of John's previous job last year.

Despite those arduous situation, God has always been faithful. His grace is sufficient. And we know God will keep His word. In Philippians 4:19, Paul said. "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." God even said in Deuteronomy 31: 6d, 8b.." he will never leave you nor forsake you..." These passages simply tell us God's provision and protection. Our family has been climbing mountains, traversing valleys, but in those trying moments we feel God's presence. His blanket of protection has been with us. It was never easy because we see our kids being affected in some way and the battle in the mind is so formidable. But faith and hope have not disappointed us. God is true. His word is infallible.

Right now, we see the dawn is breaking and the dark clouds are slowly fading allowing us to see the sun rise again. Finances is yet to recuperate. But God's blessings have been pouring. Food is still served on the table. Projects come regularly though not in bulk but my inbox was never empty. John passed his training and is taken by the company. Material things have been given as gifts. One friend even commented when he saw my husband's blackberry phone, "it does not look like you are in the midst of many crises because you are having these things." I cant help but smile. In my mind, I said, "It's God paycheck ." Seriously, not a single cent was spent for any material possession we have recently. It was like signed, sealed and delivered in John's hand. God's favor is somehow beyond reason. Favor is like grace, it is given even if you do not deserve it.

Yet truly, when you hold on to God and let Him fight your battle... You will always come out winning. You will see God's victory and glory.

Honestly, when life is truly surrendered to God, it may not be storm-free life, but sure is, it will be storm-proof. Provisions will not run out and protection will not wear down. In fact you will not be exhausted.
